Twenty-One Years

Twenty one is one of those numbers most people can’t wait to reach.  It seems that when you reach 21 the expectation is that now you can do some things that you were unable to do because you were not deemed to be old enough to do them.  Most young people can’t wait until they turn 21 because it means they are now considered “legal”.  To some people “Legal” means you can now drink alcohol and do some other things you weren’t mature enough to do before you turned 21.  Although 21 is just another number, somehow we think it sends a signal to the brain and body that a significant change has taken place.  We know every stage of life is important, but there is something about turning 21 that marks a point at which you now are no longer considered a child and you should start thinking more as an adult.

Sometimes becoming an adult is not as easy as an inexperienced youth might think.  Adulthood means you have more responsibility without benefit of help from your parents.  Although some people mature at an early age; others may take a little longer to get there.  It doesn’t matter how long you take to grow up, at some point, people expect you to do it.  Well, I guess that is where we are with the Gospel Songwriters Music Workshop; we are now 21 and it’s time to grow up as we mature in the music community.

When we first started the workshop many years ago, we had to feel our way through to find the right combination of classes that would satisfy the needs of our attendees.  Some of the things we stumbled through in our infancy have now become program staples that everyone expects to experience when coming to the workshop.  Our workshops and clinics are second to none when it comes to the quality of the material presented.  Our clinicians are top-notch teachers who make the effort to provide credible and interesting information to all who attend while keeping the information fresh and relevant.

Growing pains are something we all must experience if we are to ever get to a stable place.  The Gospel Songwriters Music Workshop may not be all we need to be, but we are all that God has blessed us to be at this point in time.  There is no other workshop that will be more concerned about your advancement in the education and ministry of music than the Gospel Songwriters Music Workshop.  There may be some larger workshops, but when you attend this workshop you will receive more one-on-one attention to your specific needs and questions that will help you move upward and onward toward your goals.  We are the best at what we do and we know if you join us on June 11 – 13, 2015, you will understand why we are so proud.  Go to our registration page and sign up to day!!!
